Target Practice lets you record your own solutions for any base layout. Once saved, your solutions are automatically named and entered into the database and become available through filtering — exactly like ICA solutions.
Up to 9 user solutions can be saved per base layout.
Creating a User Solution
To save a user solution, start from any base layout and follow these steps:
- Load a base layout using filtering or the layout number field.
- Add a Track Line starting from the cue ball, through contact with the object ball, and continuing along the intended cue ball path to the target.
- Add an Aiming Ball to describe the tip position (follow/draw and English) and the speed of the shot.
- Press S on the keyboard.
- The Save menu opens. Enter the Level (1 = easier, 2 = medium, 3 = harder), check Stop/Stun if applicable, then click Save.

After saving, the solution is analyzed, its parameters are calculated and entered into the database, and it becomes immediately available for filtering.
Note: Most save parameters — including the filename — are calculated automatically. The only entries you need to provide are the Level and Stop/Stun flag.
What Happens After Saving
Once a user solution is saved, it:
- Appears as a result when User solutions are included in filtering
- Can be interspersed with its corresponding base layout during a session
- Is stored in the User Solution directories on disk
If a friend shares their user solutions with you, copy the files to the appropriate User Solution directories and then use the Rebuild → User Solutions function in the Setup tab to register them in the database. See Setup Features for details on the Rebuild function.
