The Settings screen is where you configure ICATS to match your table and equipment, and where you initiate updates and calibration. Open it by tapping the gear icon on the main screen.

Table Size
Select the size of your pool table from the dropdown. This setting ensures that ball images are rendered at the correct scale for your specific table. If balls appear too large or too small on the table surface, check this setting first.
Aiming Ball Style
Choose how the Aiming Ball tip indicator is displayed:
- X/Y (default) — shows the horizontal (left/right English) and vertical (follow/draw) tip position as a coordinate pair
- Clock — shows the tip position as an O'Clock direction on the cue ball face, along with the number of tips
Both styles convey the same information. Choose whichever you find easier to read and apply quickly at the table.
Power
Use the Power control to prepare ICATS for shutdown:
- Standby — puts ICATS into low-power mode and displays the QR code. Recommended for ending most sessions.
- Shutdown — initiates a full shutdown. Wait 30 seconds after selecting Shutdown before removing power from the unit.
Update
Tap the Update button (cloud icon) to check for available program and content updates. If updates are found, they are installed automatically.
Under normal use, you will be prompted to accept an update automatically the first time you connect via QR code when one is available. Manual updates via this button are available if needed.
Note: Updates occasionally proceed in two phases — a program update followed by a content module update. If prompted twice to approve an update, both approvals are expected and normal.
Calibrate
Tap the Calibrate button to open the Calibration screen. Calibration adjusts ICATS for your projector position and table size so that projected images align precisely with the table surface. See Calibration for the full process.
Grid
The Grid function overlays a reference grid on the table surface. This is useful for visually checking calibration accuracy and making fine-tuning adjustments after the main calibration is complete.
Returning to the Main Screen
Tap the Back button (left-facing arrow icon) to return to the main screen.
