Calibration adjusts ICATS for the position of your projector and the size of your table, so that projected lines and ball positions align precisely with the physical diamonds on the table surface. You should calibrate when you first set up your system, and again any time the projector is moved.
Open the Calibration screen by tapping Calibrate on the Settings screen.

Before You Begin
Select your Projector Mount type at the top of the Calibration screen:
- Side (default) — use this for the projector bundled with ICATS products, mounted at the side of the table
- End — use this if your projector is mounted at the end of the table
What You Are Aligning
The Calibration screen displays four handles (circles) on your phone, and a corresponding pattern of four lines and four circles is projected onto the table. The goal is to position each projected circle so that it sits exactly on a 1×1 diamond intersection of the table, with the connecting lines running along the associated diamond rows. Ignore the distorted lines on the table rails.
When the phone screen and the table surface match, calibration is correct.
Calibration Steps
- Tap a calibration handle (circle) on the phone screen to select it. It highlights in yellow.
- Use the large triangles to make coarse adjustments, moving that handle's projected position across the table.
- Use the small triangles to make fine adjustments until the projected circle is centered on the target diamond intersection.
- Tap a different handle and repeat steps 2–3 for each of the four handles.
- If the calibration becomes significantly misaligned during adjustment, tap the Reset button (circular arrow icon) to return to the default calibration settings and start from step 1.
- When all four handles and lines are correctly positioned, tap the green Checkmark button to save the calibration and return to the Settings screen.
After saving, the grid function in Settings is useful for a final visual check of the alignment. See Settings for details on the Grid button.
