The Save Menu

When you press S on a prepared layout, the Target Practice save menu opens. It displays the automatically generated filename and provides two fields for you to fill in:

  1. Level — the difficulty rating for this solution: 1 (easier), 2 (medium), or 3 (harder)
  2. Stop/Stun — check this if the solution requires a stop or stun shot

Once you have set both fields, click Save. Target Practice analyzes the solution, calculates the remaining parameters automatically, and enters the data into the User Solutions database.

Note: All other save parameters — including the filename itself — are determined automatically. You do not need to manage them.

TP Filename Structure

TP filenames follow a strict structure to support database filtering. Because filename assignment is automatic, you do not need to construct or manage these names. Keep in mind that understanding the structure can be helpful for troubleshooting or when organizing shared solution files.

An example filename:

TP003T03L1S-U1.drl

The segments break down as follows:

SegmentMeaning
TPTarget Practice identifier
003Layout number (1–240)
T03Target number (1–21)
L1Level (1 = easiest, 2, or 3 = hardest)
SStop/Stun flag, present only if applicable
U1User Solution number (1–9)

The layout number and target number together identify the specific base layout the solution applies to. The remaining segments encode the solution's difficulty and shot type, making the filename directly usable by the filtering system.
