The examples below show filter configurations for several common shot categories. Each example shows the Base Layout Filter and Solution Layout Filter settings to use.

Case 1 Examples — Base Filter Only

These examples use Base Filter parameters only, with no solution checkboxes selected. All matching base layouts are returned. To include solutions in the results, check the ICA or User checkboxes to switch to Case 2 filtering.

Short Shots

Select shots where both the cue ball and object ball are close to their respective targets.

Long Shots

Select shots where both the cue ball and object ball are far from their respective targets.

Medium to Long Straight Shots

Select longer shots with minimal cut angle.

Thin Cuts

Select shots requiring a steep cut angle regardless of distance.

Case 3 Examples — Solution Filter Active

These examples use Solution Filter parameters with at least one ICA or User checkbox checked. Only solution layouts are returned; corresponding base layouts are interspersed.

Difficult 3-Rail Shots

Select solution layouts requiring three rail contacts at the highest difficulty level, using inside English.

Medium to Long Stop/Stun Shots

Select stop or stun solutions on medium-to-long distance shots.

Center-Ball Hit

Select solutions played with no spin — center tip position in both axes.

Easy Inside English

Select beginner-level solutions that use inside English.

Note: All Case 3 examples require at least one Solution checkbox (ICA or User) to be checked, and at least one solution parameter to be set away from its default. If neither condition is met, the Solution Filter does not activate.
