With a drill loaded and any Preshot selections made, the Scoring menu becomes visible and your practice session begins. The menu displays the current Shot description — identifying the cue ball, object ball, and target — so you know exactly how to set up the balls before each attempt.

Place the balls as indicated in the Shot description, take your shot, then record the result.
Reading the Scoring Menu
The Scoring menu shows:
- Category — the drill category Stats has assigned
- Shot X of Y / Attempt X of Y — your current position in the drill
- Shot Description — the specific cue ball position, object ball, and target for this shot
As you complete attempts, the counters increment automatically. Stats cycles through every combination of cue ball positions, object balls, and targets in the drill. To jump to a specific shot in a multi-shot drill, use Right/Left arrow keys on the keyboard.
Entering Results
Result cells are navigated and filled using either the trackpad or keyboard. The active cell is highlighted in yellow.
Using the trackpad:
- Click a result cell to select it and cycle to the next value.
- Use the triangular arrows next to each cell to step to the next or previous value.
Using the keyboard:
- Tab — moves to the next result cell
- Space — advances to the next value in the current cell
- Alternating Tab and Space is the fastest way to enter results.
After setting all result cells, press Enter (or click Score) to record the attempt to the database. Stats advances automatically to the next attempt, or to the next shot if all attempts for the current shot are complete.
Tip: Keyboard entry with Tab and Space is strongly recommended. It keeps your rhythm during a workout and is faster than using the trackpad for data entry.
Target Distance (Targ Dist)
The Targ Dist widget captures how far the cue ball landed from the target. It works differently from the other result cells:
- Select the Targ Dist cell using the trackpad or Tab key until it is outlined in yellow.
- Move the cursor on the table image to where the cue ball actually landed.
- Click to register the distance.
Stats calculates the distance from the cue ball position to the nearest edge of the target and records it. A cue ball that lands inside the target registers zero.
