File Manager Overview
The image below identifies the key elements of the File Manager, which are further described below.

| Element | Purpose |
|---|---|
| 1 | Close -- Left-Click on the "X" closes the File Manager. |
| 2 | Directory Bar -- This is the name of the current folder. The File Window (#5) lists sub-folders and files contained in this folder. |
| 3 | Add/Delete Folder -- Left-Click the icon with the plus to create a new folder. Left-Click the icon with the minus sign to remove the currently selected directory. Folders must be empty before deletion. |
| 4 | Up One Folder -- Left-Click on this "up arrow" to select the "parent" folder, making it the current folder. The "Drills" folder is the top-most folder. |
| 5 | File Window -- This window displays all the folders and files that are in the current folder (displayed in the Directory Bar). Folders are displayed first, then files. File icons contain one of three indications: DRL -- an ICA Drill file, which can be loaded and displayed by ICATS; IMG -- an image file (JPG or PNG), which can be loaded by ICATS as a drill (or as a target); ??? -- a file type unknown to ICATS, which is not able to be loaded. |
| 6 | Scroll controls -- the up and down pointing triangles can be Left-Clicked to move the File window up and down one line. Left-Click, or Left-Click-and-Drag in the "slider bar" area to scroll a page (or more) at a time. |
| 7 | File Entry box -- Selected files will be displayed in the File Entry box. When saving a file, Left-Click the File Entry box to select it, then type the new file name here. |
| 8 | Folder Shortcut buttons -- These buttons allow one-click access to key folders. Left-Click the Drills or Favorites button to go to that folder. Also supported (not shown) is a USB folder button that will appear if you have a USB stick plugged into your ICATS. |
| 9 | Open button -- having selected a single file (or folder) Left-Click on "Open" to open the file (or folder). A "Save" button will be displayed if the Save menu was launched. |
| 10 | File Type Filter -- Three options are available to filter the File Window: 1) *.* - all files; 2) DRL -- only DRL files; and 3) IMG -- filter for JPG and PNG files. |
File Selection
Operations such as Rename, Delete and Cut/Copy/Paste require selecting one or more files. To select a file, Left-Click on the file and highlight it. Cut, copy and paste operations can also operate on multiple files at once. There are two methods to select multiple files:
- Select individual files -- While holding the Ctrl key down, Left-Click on the desired files. Each file will highlight as it is clicked. This is a good way to select a set of files that are separated in the File Window.

- Select a block of files -- Left-Click on the first file, scroll down to the last file, then press Shift and Left-Click on the last file. The entire set of files from the first clicked file to the 2nd clicked file will be selected. This is a good way to delete or move an entire set of files in a directory.

Cut/Copy and Paste Files
Having selected a file, or group of files, as described above, Right-Click on one of the selected files to bring up the cut/copy/paste menu. Make your desired menu selection of cut or copy, navigate to a new folder, Right-Click in the File Window and select Paste. You have now copied (or cut) files to your new location!

Delete Files
Having selected a file, or group of files, as described above, Right-Click on one of the selected files to bring up the delete menu. Left-Click on Delete, and the file(s) are deleted. No "undo" is available for delete, so be sure of your file selection(s).
Rename a File
Rename only operates on one file. If a multiple file selection is made, the Rename option will not appear in the menu. Right-Click on the file and a file name box will appear. Use backspace and left/right arrow keys to enter the new file name, then click "OK" to rename the file.

Favorites
The Favorites folder is a convenient place to store drills you are actively working on. Having loaded an interesting drill, press the shortcut key F and the drill will be added to the Favorites folder. Once you are done with that drill, having loaded it from the Favorites folder, press shortcut key F again and the drill is removed from Favorites.
