ICATS Drill Author's Reference ManualPDF

Object Specific Editing Functions

Each ICATS Object has certain additional editing functions associated with it, to allow the author great flexibility in designing a Drill. For most objects, typical functions are move, rotate, resize, label and remove. Additionally, various line-drawing capabilities are available for Ball objects. Each object's capabilities are described in the following object-specific sections.

Pool Balls

CBalls, OBalls and Spacer Balls are "Pool Balls" and have some common features:

Movement -- A Left-Click-and-Drag on these balls will allow movement to any position on the table surface.

Labels -- Selecting "Add/Edit Label" from the Right-Click menu places a yellow box around the ball label. The author can then type any 3-letter label for the ball. A Left-Click-and-Drag on the label positions it in one of eight positions around the ball. This positioning is sometimes useful to eliminate interference with Aiming and Track Lines.

Removal -- Selecting "Remove" from the Right-Click menu or double left clicking will delete the ball from the layout.

Some additional features are:

CBalls/OBalls -- These balls also support Aiming Lines and Track Lines. Refer to Lines for further information.

Spacer Balls -- Spacers are "sticky", meaning if you drag a CBall or OBall to the edge of a Spacer Ball, it will "stick". Two balls can stick to a Spacer and will take opposing positions, guaranteeing uniform spacing between the two balls. Left-Click-and-Drag of the attached OBall or CBall will rotate around the Spacer Ball. Left-Click-and-Drag of the Spacer Ball will move the Spacer Ball, along with any "stuck" balls.
