Drawing Elements Overview

Every drill is built from a set of drawing elements — objects you place on the table surface to communicate shot information, movement paths, targets, and instructions to the user. Understanding what each element does, and which category it belongs to, is the foundation of good drill authoring.

The table below gives you a quick reference to every available element. Each category is covered in depth in its own section of this guide.

Pool Balls

ElementPurpose
CBallRepresents a Cue Ball. Up to 15 CBalls (C1–C15) can be placed in a single layout.
OBallObject Balls representing the 1 through 15.
Full Ball SpacerA full-sized placeholder ball used to enforce an exact 1-ball gap between two other balls, or to represent generic "traffic" on the table.
Half Ball SpacerSame as the Full Ball Spacer, but half the size.

Cueing Information

ElementPurpose
ABall (Aiming Ball)Communicates speed and tip placement (follow/draw and left/right spin) to the shooter.
PBall (Pattern Ball)A hybrid of an ABall and a CBall. Carries speed and cueing information, and also supports Aiming Lines and Track Lines. Used in Pattern Breakdown Drills.

Lines

ElementPurpose
Aiming LineA single-segment line attached to a CBall or OBall that displays a Ghost Ball with the cut angle.
Extended Aiming LineA yellow line extending backward from the CBall toward the shooter. Useful for body and cue alignment.
Track LineA multi-segment line tracing the extended path of a CBall or OBall, including rail contacts. Supports curves for masse shots.
Pocket LineA yellow line extending straight backward from the OBall to the cushion. Useful for judging cut angle.
Free LineA Track Line not attached to any ball. Used to draw reference geometry such as the head string or a rack outline.

Targets

ElementPurpose
TriangleA 3-sided target of arbitrary shape and size.
CircleA standard circular target.
PolygonA 4-sided target with angles that can be other than 90 degrees.
Square/RectangleA 4-sided target with fixed 90-degree angles.
ImageA JPG or PNG file placed on the layout. Can be moved, rotated, and resized.

Drill Information

ElementPurpose
TBox (Text Box)Contains written instructions from the author. Can be minimized to an icon by the user during a drill.
QR CodeAn embedded QR code linking to external resources or video. Behaves like a TBox.

Note: Shortcut keys are the fastest way to place most of these elements. A complete shortcut key reference is in the Reference section.
